Fundit Campaign for Conamara Bog & Sea Week Festivals

We need your support!

Our Campaign Page: http://fundit.ie/project/conamara-bog–sea-week-festivals

The Conamara Environmental Education & Cultural Centre has being running for over 30 years, with a necklace of annual events starting with Bog Week in May/June, the Conamara Summer School in July, Conamara Sea Week in October culminating in the Mol an Oige Concert on Dec 21st, which showcases the best of young talent throughout Connemara.

Due to the cut backs in the arts we are not receiving funding from the Arts Council. And our other main funder LEADER will not be back in action until the end of the year. So two of our main funders are out of the picture and we would appreciate any contribution to our funded campaign.

Both festivals have many aspects – a family fun day with great food and music, pub gigs, concerts in the Kylemore Abbey, art exhibition in Connemara National Park, a vibrant schools programme, demonstrations & workshops, guided daily treks across the landscape/seascape. Letterfrack becomes a pulsating village at festival time, where some of the finest poets, painters, musicians and scientists rub shoulders and make magic. Our ‘After the Light’ parade in Sea Week is a spectacular family night time event involving hundreds of people. Most events are free.

Due to this lack of funding we will have to either downsize the festivals or not run them at all, so we are looking for your help with our Crowd Funding Campaign.

We have some amazing rewards on offer:

– CDs from past festivals,
– a week’s holiday in a Connemara Cottage,
– 1 to 1 tuition with some of Irelands best musicians,
– a private concert with Sean Tyrell,
– a guided shore walk with top marine biologist for you & 7 of your friends,

And much more!

Any support would be greatly appreciated. Please spread the word.
