Family Cycle Day
As part of National Bike Week 2015 which starts on Saturday 13th Conamara Environmental Education and Cultural Centre in conjunction with Western Lakes CC are having their annual Family Cycle Event which takes place in the village of Tullycross in North West Conamara Saturday 13th at 12 noon.
This annual event attracts a motley crew of riders with great fun in the village, sweets are eaten, prizes are given out, tea is drunk and an easy relaxed 12km cycling event happens. Participants cycle from Tullycross to Letterfrack where they will have refreshments before continuing on through Currywongaun and land back in the village of Tullycross where ‘Mrs. Doyle’ will have a cup of tea and some goodies.
On the day, thanks to the generosity of James Kane a number of bikes will be available for those who come early and may need a bike. “So if the children have a bike and Granny or Granddad need a set of wheels tell them to come early and we’ll look after them” says John James Flaherty of Western Lakes CC.
This event is part of National Bike Week and is a great occasion to encourage people of all ages to get out and enjoy a nice family day in the beautiful surroundings of Conamara. This fun filled event is absolutely free. Everybody is welcome.
This exciting project is supported by Galway County Council and is a Galway Sports Partnership Initiative.
