Conamara Summer School

Ireland’s longest running environmental/cultural summer school

Conamara Summer School is a week long exploration of the magical island of Inishbofin, off the coast of Conamara. A multidisciplinary team of poets, writers, musicians and scientists including botanists, zoologists and marine biologists explore the human and natural history of the island which includes field trips, lectures, workshops and concerts. This school makes a much appreciated and significant contribution to the economy of the island. This summer school is Ireland’s longest running environmental/culture summer school established in 1984 and is approved by the Dept Education and Science for ongoing and further education for teachers but is open to the public also.

The Summer School is approved by the Dept. of Education & Science as inservice for teachers.
