This album is called The Mermaid’s Purse because it suggests the notion of mystery and magic. The mermaid’s purse is a found object on many an Irish shore. In scientific terms it is the egg-case of a dogfish but in more lyrical terms it becomes the highly evocative mermaid’s purse.
